FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Inter Miami hosted second place FC Cincinnati in a rematch between the two Eastern Conference power houses.
The Herons were without Superstar Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba due to a suspension, as they skipped the MLS All-star game earlier this week.
Even without those two, Inter Miami were able to force a 0-0 draw with Cincinnati.
The stalemate was almost broken in the final minutes by Cincinnati, as they scored a late goal that was ruled off due to a foul in the build-up.
With the draw, Inter Miami sits in fifth place with 42 points and three games in hand on the top four teams.
Inter Miami outshot Cincinnati 13-8, but Cincinnati outshot Miami 4-3 on shots on target.
The Herons next game is the first game of League’s Cup, meaning new signee Rodrigo De Paul could make his debut for the club.
League’s Cup kicks off Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
