CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A Coral Springs Charter School teacher was arrested Thursday morning, the city’s police department confirmed in a social media post.
Information about the arrest — including the teacher’s name, age and possible charges — have not yet been released.
Coral Springs police said the investigation is ongoing and asked the public not to call the department’s non-emergency lines for information.
The school is located at 3205 N. University Drive.
In a statement, Colleen Reynolds, a spokesperson for Charter Schools USA, confirmed the arrest and said the teacher is no longer employed at the school.
“We were made aware today that a teacher was arrested. He no longer works at our school,” the statement read. “The safety and security of our students is our number one priority. We take this very seriously and have taken all appropriate actions.”
No other details were immediately released.
