SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — An investigation continues following a fire at a popular resort in Sunny Isles Beach.

Cleanup efforts were underway on Tuesday following a fire the day before that damaged the north side exterior of the Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, located along Collins Avenue and 163rd Street.

The resort is made up of two buildings, one for the hotel and one for residents, and the fire occurred on the hotel side.

On Tuesday, the pool and bar area of the hotel, which are located on the south side of the building, were fully open for residents and guests to use.

The hotel is not accepting any new bookings for the remainder of the week.
