FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Prosecutors have declined to file a misdemeanor battery charge against Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend last month, according to court records obtained by Local 10 News Thursday.

Judkins, 21, was accused of striking the woman during a July 7 car ride from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to their hotel. The two had resumed dating in June after previously living together in 2024.

The woman reported the alleged incident to police on July 12, saying Judkins hit and punched her during an argument that began over text messages from his family. Judkins, through his attorney, said the woman struck him first and that he acted in self-defense.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department released an arrest report on Monday related to the arrest of Quinshon Judkins, an NFL player, on Saturday.

The Broward State Attorney’s Office said it reviewed police reports, surveillance footage, body camera video, text messages, photographs, and statements from both parties.

Investigators noted inconsistencies in the timeline and injuries, as well as the absence of visible injuries on surveillance video taken shortly after the alleged incident.

The woman submitted photos showing bruising, but prosecutors said those injuries could be consistent with either account. They also cited concerns over the five-day delay in reporting the incident, during which the woman did not seek help despite being alone in the hotel on several occasions.

Judkins, a former standout at Ole Miss, signed with the Browns as a rookie earlier this year.

It is unclear if Judkins and the woman involved in the domestic battery case are still together.
