Miami police investigate shooting at boxing gym

MIAMI — Miami police investigated a shooting on Thursday evening in the Liberty City neighborhood.

It happened at around 7:20 p.m. in the 4900 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue.

A Miami Police Department spokesperson said medics took a male victim, described as “alert and stable,” to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

According to MPD, one person has been detained.

Witnesses told Local 10 News that the shooting was preceded by an argument in a boxing gym where children were present.

They reported hearing multiple gunshots.
