The teen said she saw a driver following the girl, who is her neighbor in North Miami. The driver stopped, opened the door, got out of the car, and rushed toward the girl.

“She grabbed a gate to open it, and he ran towards her and grabbed her,” the teen said.

The girl fought back at about 4 p.m. on Thursday. The man’s car was parked near Northeast 135 Street and 10 Avenue. The teen said he tried to carry the girl to the car.

The girl shouted -- “Help! Help! Help!” -- and didn’t give up her fight. The teen said the girl managed to get away, sat on the floor near her, and started crying.

“I was just hugging her,” the teen said.

The North Miami Police Department is the lead agency in the case, as the law enforcement community is searching for the brazen suspect. Detectives were searching for surveillance video.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
