MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead late Monday night.
The crash was reported at about 11:53 p.m. in the area of Northwest 12th Avenue and 103rd Street.
According to MDSO, deputies arrived in the area and found the victim laying on the ground unresponsive.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that the bicyclist was struck by a gray sedan, who then fled westbound on NW 103rd Street,” MDSO told Local 10 News in an email.
MDSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.
