Reward offered for information leading to arrested after bicyclist killed in Pinewood hit-and-run Deputies asked for the public’s help Friday in locating the driver who they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead in Pinewood.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Detectives with Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Traffic Homicide department asked for the public’s help Friday in locating the driver who they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead late Monday night.

Authorities said 63-year-old Gregory Hughes was struck and killed while riding his bicycle near Northwest 103rd Street and 12th Avenue in the county’s Pinewood area just before midnight.

They said the deadly hit-and-run was captured on surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station.

Surveillance video shows Hughes, known by locals as “Grey,” leaving the station’s parking lot on his bike before turning the corner and continuing down the road.

A gray sedan then sped by, striking Hughes and leaving him in the roadway.

Another camera from across the street captured the moment of impact.

Deputies said the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information.

Investigators described the vehicle as a 2017–2020 Hyundai Elantra, four-door, gray or silver in color, with possible front-end and windshield damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Michael Quinones at 305-471-2400 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 if their information leads to an arrest. All calls remain strictly anonymous.
