Dozens participate in ‘Peace in the Hood’ ride out in Miami-Dade
PINEWOOD, Fla. – Dozens of cyclists met on Friday night in northwest Miami-Dade County’s Pinewood neighborhood to ride together during the Peace in the Hood event. The ride started at the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 103th Street, just west of Interstate 95. They are a key instrument to solving most of our cases,” said Detective Argemis Colome, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department. “We do need more than the people that’s coming out here to unite and deal with this issue,” said Tangela Sears, a community activist. “We need to be able to work with our law enforcement.”

Shooting in Pinewood leaves man injured, police say
A man was injured during a shooting on Monday in Miami-Dade County’s Pinewood neighborhood. Miami-Dade police officers responded to the area of Northwest 11th Avenue and Northwest 106th Street. Officers said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took him to the hospital. Officers are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. Man, 30, dies in hit-and-run crash in NW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are searching for the driver of a 2000-2004 dark-colored Nissan Xterra. Officers said he was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 30-year-old man dead on Friday in Miami-Dade County’s Pinewood neighborhood. Officers responded to the intersection of Northwest Eighth Avenue and 116th Terrace where they found the man dead. Ramon Fernandez was the victim of a hit-and-run driver Friday night in Miami-Dade County, his relatives said. Man, 19, crashes into business after shooting in Miami-Dade’s Pinewood area

He crashed into a store at 11891 NW 12 Ave., according to Detective Christopher Thomas, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took the man to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. His mother, who did not want to be identified, said her son had been shot in the head. 2 detained after northwest Miami-Dade police shootout, crash, chase
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – While police officers were investigating a domestic dispute Thursday afternoon in northwest Miami-Dade County’s Pinewood neighborhood, a brazen shooter opened fire nearby, Miami-Dade police said. Police converge in Miami-Dade County's Pinewood neighborhood. Officers reported hearing the gunshots about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest 96th Street and Northwest Ninth Avenue. According to Miami-Dade police Detective Christopher Thomas, officers saw a gunman “hanging out” of a car along Northwest 96th Street, leading to an exchange of gunfire. “The officers are not injured,” Thomas said.
