North Shore Medical Center emergency tech accused of patient’s sex assault: ‘I am innocent!’

EMT bonds out of jail, claims patient was lying to police

MIAMI – An emergency medical technician who stands accused of sexually assaulting a patient in Miami-Dade County walked out of jail on Tuesday and said the patient lied to police.

A woman told police officers that Anthony Wallace had assaulted her in a bathroom at the North Shore Medical Center on Saturday morning in the Pinewood area, records show.

“I did not! 100% she was lying,” Wallace, 31, said. “I don’t want to say nothing else. I am innocent!”

The woman told Miami-Dade police officers Sunday that Wallace asked her for a urine sample, followed her into the bathroom, and forced her to commit a sex act in exchange for pain medication, according to police.

Police officers arrested Wallace on Sunday and he appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer on Monday in bond court.

Wallace is facing a charge of second-degree sexual battery. Glazer ordered Wallace to stay away from the victim and North Shore Medical Center and she set his bond at $10,000.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Richard Hersch is set to preside over the case. Wallace’s arraignment hearing is at 9 a.m. on April 30.
