Plantation 10-year-old starts business teaching kids how to ride their bikes

10-year-old from Plantation starts business selling bike lessons

PLANTATION, Fla. — A South Florida 10-year-old has turned his passion for bike riding to a business.

Young Spencer is a hit in his Plantation neighborhood, and on the Nextdoor app, with his new venture.

“I think it’s fun because I like riding, going really fast, and it’s really fun,” said Spencer. “I have a few clients so far, but I’m willing to get as many as I need.”

A year ago, Spencer was the victim of a random crime. It has been a year of triumph, and he’s even running for class president at Central Park Elementary.

“We’re just very proud of him, and we know he’s going to continue to have a thriving business,” said Stuart Glassberg, Spencer’s father.

The fifth grader says it’s $20 a lesson, and kids are usually riding on their own in two or three sessions.

“I feel very good because I know that kids love riding bikes, and I just want to help people,” he said.
