AVENTURA, Fla. — A video voyeurism charged was dropped against a man, months after his arrest at Aventura Mall, Local 10 learned Tuesday.

Court records show the case was officially closed on Nov. 1, 2022, following his August 2022 arrest.

Records show “no action” was taken against Andrew Eastburg in the case.

Local 10 News requested a close-out memo for Eastburg from the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, however none was available.

A spokesperson for the State Attorney’s Office said their office typically does not generate closeout memos for misdemeanor crime cases.

According to Aventura police, Eastburg, then 22, was arrested in August 2022 after police found dozens of videos saved on his cellphone of victims that he had allegedly stalked and recorded while at the Aventura Mall.

A police officer reported seeing Eastburg recording one victim under her skirt in the three-story mall, at 19501 Biscayne Blvd.

When the Aventura officer searched Eastburg’s cell phone with consent, he found over 30 videos saved from July 23, 2022 to Aug. 7, 2022 of victims at the mall, according to the police report.

“In the videos, it shows the defendant following numerous females, and videoing their buttocks and crotch areas unknowingly as they shopped/walked through the mall,” Officer Jason Williams wrote in his report.

After his arrest, the Aventura Mall’s security banned Eastburg from visiting the property for the next three years, according to the Aventura Police Department.
