BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Sarge, a 7-year-old miniature pinscher with special needs, is looking for a loving home, the Humane Society of Broward said Saturday.
HSBC’s Cherie Wachter introduced Sarge, who weighs about 20 pounds and lost his previous owner.
“He is good with other dogs,” Wachter said. “He previously lived with a cat … but it’s really important that whoever adopts Sarge gets him on a diet because while he is a cute little potato, it’s not good for him.”
Sarge also has a luxating patella in one knee and must lose weight before surgery can be performed.
He enjoys leisurely walks, loves people of all ages, and could benefit from having another dog to help him stay active.
Wachter also highlighted Steven, a 4-year-old cat who has limited eyesight. Wachter said Steven is sweet, playful, and can live a long, healthy life with the right family.
Those interested in adopting Sarge, Steven, or other pets can complete a pre-adoption application at humanebroward.com or visit the shelter when the adoption kennels open at 11 a.m.
