HIALEAH, Fla. — An 18-year-old domestic violence victim and mother was in a tumultuous romantic relationship for more than three years with a Hialeah man who faced a felony charge that could result in life imprisonment, records show.
The domestic violence victim was 17 and living with Eduardo Parapar, then 22, when she gave birth to their baby girl, according to Hialeah police and Miami-Dade County court records on the felony case against him.
On Aug. 4, domestic violence prompted the mother to move out with her daughter, and jump from place to place, until she settled on Aug. 10 at a two-bedroom apartment in Hialeah that belonged to her grandmother, a detective wrote, records show.
“I am going to [expletive] kill that [racial slur],” Parapar, then 23, said after showing up at the apartment on Aug. 11, “throwing garden pots at the window ... banging on the door and kicking it,” according to a Hialeah police report.
The 18-year-old mother and her 13-month-old daughter were with a 15-year-old cousin, and the cousin’s 16-year-old boyfriend in the apartment, according to police.
In a jealous rage, Parapar, 23, punched the 16-year-old boy, and there was a “tug-o-war” before he left with his daughter, according to a Miami-Dade arrest warrant.
On Aug. 13, Parapar’s cellphone was “pinging in Hollywood” when a FaceTime call showed Parapar with his daughter -- who was “crying in distress” -- and he said “he would be leaving the state” so the mother would “never see” her again, according to a Hialeah detective’s request for an arrest warrant.
A Miami-Dade judge signed a warrant for Parapar’s arrest on Aug. 14. Without mentioning the toddler, Hialeah detectives asked the public for help with finding Parapar on Aug. 14 and described him as “armed and dangerous.”
The Hialeah Police Department reported that Parapar was behind bars on Aug. 20 in Florida’s Santa Rosa County.
Deputies in Santa Rosa accused Parapar of lying about his name during a traffic stop and running away before a massive search that resulted in his arrest for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and providing a false ID, records show. The case is pending.
Parapar -- who has an arrest record for resisting arrest in 2024, aggravated assault with a firearm in 2022, and possession of a controlled substance while armed in 2021 -- turned 24 while awaiting extradition for a felony charge of burglary with assault or battery in Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade County inmate records show correctional deputies booked Parapar shortly before 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center near Doral.
On Wednesday, Parapar appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer, who ordered him to stay away from the victim and granted the prosecutor’s motion for pre-trial detention pending a final hearing.
“This is a non-bondable offense. You are going to see a judge tomorrow. It’s actually a crime punishable by life in prison if you are found guilty,” Glazer told Parapar in court.
Parapar’s hearing is on Thursday, and his arraignment is on Sept. 30. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Lody Jean was set to preside over the case. Records show his next court hearing for the pending case in Santa Rosa County is on Nov. 20.
