Body found in reported drowning at Southwest Ranches home

SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. — A body was found Friday morning after a reported drowning at a home in Southwest Ranches.

The home is located near the 5800 block of Southwest 196th Lane.

Video from Sky 10 showed a body covered in a yellow tarp near the edge of a pool at the home as Davie police officers worked behind crime scene tape just before 11 a.m.

Davie police confirmed in a statement that units responded to a drowning call and said the case remains an active investigation.

No other details about the individual or how he or she ended up in the pool were immediately released.
