AVENTURA, Fla. — The brother of a man killed in a police shooting at an Aventura salon in July was arrested Friday after he went to the salon to harass workers, according to an arrest report.
According to an arrest report, Travis Cannata, 36, of Delray Beach, had been originally trespassed from RH Beauty + Salon on July 5, five days before his twin brother, Troy Cannata, was shot and killed there by an Aventura police officer.
Police said Troy Cannata went to the salon, located at 19017 Biscayne Blvd., on July 10 and caused a disturbance there before an officer opened fire, killing him. A witness had described him as the disgruntled husband of a former employee.
Investigators have not released details about what led up to the shooting.
Friday’s arrest report states that Travis Cannata was “filming employees and antagonizing them” when he showed back up at the salon just after 2:45 p.m. and stood outside the door.
After officers took Travis Cannata into custody on a trespassing charge, he “voluntarily expressed anger toward both law enforcement and RH Salon regarding the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death,” the report states.
Miami-Dade jail records show Cannata was released Saturday after posting bond on the misdemeanor charge.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was investigating the police shooting and had not released any findings as of Monday.
