HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that shut down the Palmetto Expressway in the Hialeah Gardens area Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. near Okeechobee Road.
Authorities have not indicated the exact number of people injured or killed in the crash, though FHP dispatch data indicates it was fatal.
Officials with the Hialeah Fire Department additionally said that a 28-year-old man was ejected from a vehicle and was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
