Police: 1 injured after shooting in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS POLICE Police officers respond to a shooting on Saturday in Miami Gardens.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — One person was injured after a shooting on Saturday in Miami Gardens, according to police.

The shooting was shortly before 9:50 a.m. near Northwest 184 Street and 30 Avenue, just west of the Walt Frazier Park and north of Miami Gardens Drive, according to police.

Police officers learned the person injured had arrived at the shooter’s home “with the intent to engage in a physical altercation,” according to Diana Delgado, a spokeswoman for the Miami Gardens Police Department.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel also responded and reported finding the shooting victim had suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A detective was still investigating the shooting on Saturday afternoon, according to Delgado.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
