HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Two men accused of robbing and kidnapping a man at gunpoint in Hollywood last month are behind bars after police say the victim identified them in photo lineups and stolen items were later recovered during a search.

The incident was reported to Hollywood police on Aug. 30, a day after it occurred at a home on Mayo Street.

The victim told officers that he had been lured to the home, where two men armed with a rifle and a taser attacked him, demanded valuables and then forced him into a vehicle, according to the report.

The victim said he was struck multiple times on his left forearm with the butt of a rifle and tased in the stomach before being ordered to hand over personal belongings, which included a 24-karat gold bracelet that he described as a gift from his late grandmother, the report stated.

He also reported that his iPhone, wallet, credit cards, house keys and cash were stolen, according to police.

They said victim told police he initially hesitated to report the attack because he wanted to confirm the address of the home before contacting them.

When the victim went to HPD Headquarters on Aug. 30, officers said they documented visible injuries to the victim that included lacerations, bruises and puncture wounds consistent with being tased.

Detectives said the victim gave detectives a detailed account of being held against his will inside the Mayo Street residence.

According to the report, the victim claimed that one of the suspects pointed a rifle at his head and threatened to shoot while the other deployed a Taser.

After demanding his phone passcode, authorities said the suspects allegedly continued to search his belongings and ordered him to remove the bracelet from his wrist.

The victim told investigators that he was then forced into his father’s Hyundai Kona and driven around Hollywood and Hallandale Beach as the suspects used his phone to make calls and send messages. He told police he felt he had no choice but to comply out of fear for his life.

On Sept. 12, detectives showed the victim two separate photo lineups.

He identified 44-year-old Jairon Garcia Rodriguez as the man who pointed the rifle and struck him, and 21-year-old Travon Joseph Lee as the man who used the Taser and helped prevent the victim from leaving.

Police said they arrested Lee on Sunday in Dania Beach with the assistance of U.S. Marshals. They also confirmed that Rodriguez was arrested three days later at a residence on Jefferson Street in Hollywood.

Detectives confirmed that a search warrant executed at the home turned up stolen items from the robbery.

Both men are facing a slew of charges that include armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, armed false imprisonment kidnapping. Their bond information wasn’t immediately available.
