A hit or miss shower could dampen parts of South Florida Thursday evening. As the night unfolds, partly cloudy skies will be the story for Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Friday will offer familiar weather conditions: hot and humid with afternoon/early evening showers and storms in the mix.
Temperatures are expected to peak in the low 90s.
In the tropics, a disturbance will make its way toward the Bahamas, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds this weekend. The disturbance is likely to become a tropical depression and could develop into Tropical Storm Imelda and get stronger as it tracks toward the southeast coast early next week. Barring a major shift in model guidance, it appears there will be no direct impacts for the east coast of Florida; however, areas farther north, from Georgia to the Carolinas, should stay aware and start reviewing hurricane preparedness plans.
