Narcotics use linked to Fort Lauderdale stabbing that left man hospitalized, cops say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being stabbed in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

Fort Lauderdale police officers and firefighters responded just before 2 a.m. to the 1300 block of Northeast Fifth Terrace and found a man who was stabbed with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Fort Lauderdale police.

Authorities said the man was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victim and the suspect, who has not yet been identified, had been using narcotics before the incident, police said.

No other details about the stabbing were immediately released.
