MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A road rage incident that occurred on Interstate 95 in northwest Miami-Dade has led to a man being arrested, authorities said.
According to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. on Sept. 12.
Troopers said a woman was driving her silver Toyota Venza along State Road 112 and was merging onto I-95 when someone driving a red vehicle moved around her car despite them traveling on a single-lane ramp.
The woman honked at the red car and, believing that was the end of their interaction, continued driving northbound on I-95, troopers said.
That was until she reached Northwest 135th Street, which is when the red vehicle showed up again, and this time the driver allegedly threw something at the victim’s vehicle, striking it and causing damage, the report stated.
According to the report, the victim stopped her vehicle and called law enforcement, offering them video of the incident as evidence.
Through investigative means, detectives were able to determine that the red vehicle belonged to a plumbing business out of West Park, and after contacting the owner, were able to determine that the vehicle was being driven at the time by 33-year-old Emmanuel Owens, an employee at the business.
Investigators arranged a meeting with Owens on Saturday, where he was taken into custody on a felony charge of shooting or throwing a deadly missile into a public or private dwelling.
Owens, of Hollywood, was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County without incident, troopers said.
As of Monday morning, Owens was no longer appearing in Miami-Dade’s online jail database.
