MIAMI — Three people, including a 13-year-old boy, were arrested Monday after they were spotted inside a stolen vehicle that was running stationary at a gas station in Miami, authorities confirmed.
According to an arrest report obtained Tuesday from the Miami Police Department, a lieutenant and two sergeants located the stolen vehicle around 8:30 a.m. Monday as it was running stationary at the Chevron gas station, located at 1101 NW 42nd Ave.
Police said the driver, Dante Noble-Sinclair, 20, of Homestead, and a 13-year-old Homestead boy who was sitting in the front passenger seat were removed from the vehicle, but Manuel De Leon, 32, of Miami, was lying in the backseat with his shirt off.
According to the report, a sergeant tried to remove him from the vehicle but noticed De Leon’s hand was concealed.
Police said another sergeant removed a white T-shirt being held by De Leon and saw that he was holding a tan-colored gun to his chest with his finger on the trigger.
According to police, the two other occupants were removed from the area as law enforcement tried to negotiate with De Leon in an attempt to safely detain him.
After a standoff, De Leon eventually exited the vehicle and was arrested, authorities said.
He faces charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm/weapon or ammunition, improper exhibition of a firearm, trespassing at an unoccupied structure or conveyance and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Noble-Sinclair was also arrested on charges of grand theft of a vehicle, trespassing at an unoccupied structure or conveyance, petit theft and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Police said they were unable to make contact with the teen’s parents, and he was also arrested on a charge of trespassing at an unoccupied structure or conveyance, and was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
As of Tuesday morning, De Leon and Noble-Sinclair both remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed their bonds as “to be set.”
