MIAMI — Miami police have arrested one of two women who are accused of robbing a man after making him a drink at his home, authorities announced.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, Hugana Davis, 49, of Dania Beach, was arrested Monday in Miami Gardens on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, third-degree grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.
Police said the incident occurred back on March 30 after the victim met Davis’ accomplice, who remains at large, at a liquor store located at 2525 NE Second Ave.
According to the report, after engaging in small talk, the victim and the woman agreed to meet at the victim’s home, along with the woman’s friend, later identified as Davis, who was waiting in the woman’s SUV.
Police said once at the victim’s home, the women “mixed the victim a drink.”
The victim told police that Davis encouraged him to drink, saying “Oh, you are not drinking enough. Sip some more,” and then tried to distract him by saying, “I am from Canada, and I love giving white boys massages.”
According to the arrest report, as Davis was massaging him, the victim saw that the other woman was grabbing his credit cards, so he yelled out at her.
But police said Davis told him to relax and calmed him down.
According to the report, the victim then fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up, he discovered that his iPhone was missing, along with his $7,000 Rolex watch and his spare car keys. He then went online and found that $3,000 had been transferred from his bank account to another account via Zelle, authorities said.
According to the report, the victim identified Davis as one of the suspects in a photo lineup on April 15, but she wasn’t located by police until Tuesday.
As of Wednesday morning, Davis was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. If she posts bond, she has been ordered to stay away from the victim.
Anyone with information about the other woman’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Miami Police Department or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
