BSO: Man arrested in connection with shooting at West Park home

WEST PARK, Fla. — A man was arrested Tuesday morning following a shooting at a home in West Park, authorities confirmed.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the shooting was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 4800 block of Southwest 24th Street.

Sources told Local 10 News the home where the shooting occurred is an Airbnb, but authorities have not yet confirmed that information.

No injuries were reported.

According to BSO, Jahmiah Antonio James Alves, 26, was taken into custody.

Jail records show he faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon.

As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
