Woman hurt after dogs attack her and child in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities say a woman was hurt in northwest Miami-Dade when several loose dogs attacked her and a 5-year-old child on Saturday morning.

Shortly after 11 a.m., the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a medical call in the 2200 block of Northwest 64th Street in the county’s Gladeview area.

Deputies said one of the dogs returned and lunged at a deputy, who discharged their service weapon, fatally striking the animal.

They said woman was treated at the scene and did not require transport to a hospital. The child was unharmed.

No other details were immediately released.
