DAVIE, Fla. — It was a lively homecoming on Friday night at NSU University School in Davie, where fans packed the stands for food, fun and football under the South Florida lights.
Before kickoff, the celebration featured food trucks, face painting and plenty of school spirit as the Sharks hosted American Heritage (Delray Beach).
Once the game began, the Sharks took an early lead behind strong offensive play.
Quarterback Jayden Miller ran in for a touchdown to put the Sharks up 21-14, but the Stallions answered back with a 55-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Stracke to Johnathan Cesar, tying the game at 21 heading into halftime.
By the fourth quarter, the score remained knotted at 21, keeping the crowd on edge and the energy high.
A bad snap to Stracke led to a safety by the Sharks (6-4), and their defense held on to secure a 23-21 upset over the Stallions (6-3).
It was a picture-perfect homecoming atmosphere, complete with packed bleachers, cheers echoing across the field and a cool South Florida breeze.
