MIRAMAR, Fla. — One person has died following a fiery crash in Miramar, authorities confirmed.
According to Miramar police, Miami Gardens police officers came across the crash just after 1 a.m. Monday in the area of Northwest 215th Street near the Turnpike.
One driver was trapped inside a vehicle and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene, police said.
According to police, a second vehicle was also involved and the driver of that vehicle was transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital as a trauma alert.
Police confirmed the two vehicles involved in the crash were a 2017 Honda Civic and a 2020 Tesla 3.
“The Honda was eastbound in the westbound lanes, which caused a head-on collision with the Tesla,” police said in an email to Local 10 News.
The identities of those killed and injured in the crash have not yet been released.
Miramar Police Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating.
