DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of a boat fire in Deerfield Beach early Friday morning.
According to BSFR, the fire was reported at about 3 a.m. in the 1600 block of Southeast Fifth Court.
First responders said about 50 firefighters and a fire boat responded to the scene to battle the large fire that occurred on a 50-foot sailboat that was docked behind a home.
BSFR officials said the boat was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
First responders said some fuel was “unrecoverable and entered the waterway due to breach of the fuel tank from the fire.”
No injuries were reported.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
