MIAMI — Four people were taken into custody Friday afternoon after Miami-Dade deputies and Florida Highway Patrol officers conducted a felony stop on a reported stolen vehicle, authorities said.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said deputies in the Midwest District responded at approximately 1:45 p.m. to assist an officer regarding a stolen vehicle on the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway near West Flagler Street.
During the stop, deputies and FHP officers detained four individuals. They said no chase or pursuit occurred.
Detectives with the MDSO Midwest Auto Theft Unit have assumed the investigation.
Officials did not release the names of those detained, and confirmed that charges were pending.
