MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade man was arrested this past weekend for impersonating a corrections officer, marking at least the second time he has faced such charges, according to an arrest report obtained by Local 10 News on Wednesday.
Jail records show Erick Anthony Moore Jr., 22, was taken into custody near the 6200 block of northwest 22nd Avenue after deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office say he was observed in full corrections officer uniform, including a jacket labeled “LT E Moore” and another marked “Corrections.”
Moore reportedly told officers he was a corrections officer but did not have a valid ID card.
Authorities confirmed that Moore frequents the area and was currently impersonating a corrections officer when authorities arrived.
He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after probable cause was found during a brief bond court hearing. Investigators said Moore also has prior arrests in Monroe County on unrelated charges.
Moore previously made headlines in January 2022 when he was arrested at Miami Palmetto Senior High School while appearing to be a corrections officer.

At the time, investigators said Moore wore a corrections jacket, a traffic vest, and a Florida corrections ID badge that belonged to someone else. Officers discovered he had handcuffs, a pocketknife, a thermometer shaped like a firearm, and two credit cards that did not belong to him.
He was charged in 2022 with impersonating an officer, trespassing on school property with a firearm, unlawful possession of stolen credit cards, burglary, and unlawful use of a police badge.
Jail records show he is facing one count of falsely impersonating a police or corrections officer.
He was no longer listed as an inmate on Miami-Dade’s jail website as of Wednesday morning.
