Miami Fire Rescue said crews responded at 10:32 a.m. to a home near the 1800 block of Northwest 53rd Street, where crews found heavy smoke coming from the single-story residence.

They said the incident was immediately upgraded to a Code 1 working fire, bringing additional units to the scene.

Firefighters deployed hose lines and forced entry to conduct an aggressive fire attack while simultaneously searching for occupants. No one was injured, and the search found all residents accounted for, according to MFR Lt. Pete Sanchez.

Sanchez said the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, and a resident informed rescue crews that the blaze is believed to have originated from an electric bike stored inside.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the displaced residents with temporary housing and other needs.

No other details about the fire were immediately released.
