According to his arrest report, Diego Alejandro Santana-Caner, 25, of Miami, was arrested Monday afternoon at the Amazon delivery station, located at 13450 NW 14th St. in Sweetwater.

Police said officers met with a manager who said she spoke with Santana-Caner about 20 missing packages.

Santana-Caner told his manager that he threw them out, the report stated.

According to the report, the manager claimed that Santana-Caner told her that he had sold some of the packages that contained a total of eight AirPods.

In addition to the stolen packages, Santana-Caner was also captured on surveillance video taking multiple food items from Amazon’s lunchroom without paying for them, authorities said.

Police said Santana-Caner provided a written statement to Amazon listing the items he took and also signed a restitution form for the items, which totaled $2,239.72.

According to the report, the manager confirmed that the thefts occurred between Nov. 23 and Dec. 11.

Santana-Caner was arrested on charges of third-degree grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Santana-Caner was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond in connection with the case. He is not expected to post bond Tuesday, however, as online jail records show he is also being held for allegedly violating felony probation for staging an accident and making a false report to police in a separate case.

Local 10 News has reached out to Amazon for a statement and is awaiting a response.
