MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Knaus Berry Farm is set to hold its grand opening at its new location on Monday morning.
Though the South Florida staple is at a different location, it will still serve their iconic treats, from milkshakes to cinnamon rolls to fresh fruits.
While Monday’s grand opening was scheduled for 8 a.m., there were already about 50 people in line just after 6 a.m.
“It’s tremendously exciting to be able to open the doors and welcome people before Christmas,” general manager Joel White said. “We worked really hard to get the place ready and we’re ready to go.”
Its new location is at 16790 SW 177th Ave. in Miami-Dade’s rural Redland area.
“We really feel like it’s an honor to continue the tradition of 70 years, and it’s something very sacred. So we’ve worked really hard to retain the staff. We have about 90% of the same staff here. It’s going to be the same menu, the same cinnamon rolls, the same recipe, the same shakes,” White said. “We brought over the shake stand by a crane. It’s so it’s all the same, and that’s what we want.
“We want people to come here. Obviously, it’s a new location and it’s different ownership, but we feel very good about what people will get today and going forward.”
There are some minor changes, though.
“We’re taking credit cards now and additionally we’ll be open today,” White said. “It is a special opening on Monday, but going for will be open Tuesday to Sunday, so people who work six days a week could come on Sunday.”
