Federal agents arrested Brian Susbielles, 35, of North Beach, soon after he got off of Holland America Line’s Volendam on Sunday, according to federal court documents.

A federal criminal complaint states that after Susbielles disembarked, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers conducted a border search of Susbielles’ iPhone and MacBook and found illicit images of children.

Agents said photos showed boys and girls as young as 8 being sexually abused. They said they also found chats on the messaging app Telegram between Susbielles and other users where they shared illicit content.

Additionally, authorities said Susbielles had been the subject of a 2024 tip from Yahoo to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Susbielles had uploaded two child sexual abuse videos to his email account.

According to the complaint, Susbielles admitted to investigators that he downloads child sexual abuse images from a Russian website and described his viewing and sharing of the content as a “personal demon,” but said he’s never sexually abused a child.

“It is wrong, it is disgusting,” agents said he told them.

Susbielles was taken into custody and taken to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail faciltiy to be held on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service.

He now faces two federal charges related to the possession and transportation of child sexual abuse material.
