PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed home invasion at the Palm Beach County home of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, where his mother was confronted and held against her will last month, authorities said.
Deputies said four masked men armed with handguns forced their way into the Duckweed Road home in Wellington on Nov. 16, demanding cash and car keys.
The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was not home at the time, but deputies said his 60-year-old mother was inside and was forced to remain with the suspects as they searched the house.
They said the men fled with stolen items after being interrupted.
Detectives on Tuesday identified one of the suspects as Pedro Rodriguez, of West Palm Beach.
Surveillance footage, cellphone data and stolen property recovered during a search this past weekend tied Rodriguez to the crime, according to investigators.
Authorities said purses belonging to Hernandez’s girlfriend, clothing matching what was worn during the robbery and a gun consistent with the weapon used were found in Rodriguez’s residence.
Rodriguez was arrested and booked into jail on charges including home invasion robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment, grand theft and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
As of Tuesday afternoon, he was being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center.
