MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed and a woman was critically injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the area around 2 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a ShotSpotter alert near the intersection of Northwest 63rd Street and 21st Avenue in the county’s Brownsville area.
Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported both victims to a Jackson Memorial Hospital, authorities said. The man later died from his injuries. The woman remained in critical condition.
A Local 10 News crew was at the scene as crime scene investigators surveilled the area and focused on what appeared to be bullet shell casings on the ground.
Detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau have taken over the investigation. No additional details about the victims or possible suspect or suspects were immediately released.
