MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A total of six Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units joined Miami Beach and city of Miami firefighters to battle a fire on a 60-foot yacht on Saturday morning.
The blaze broke out just before 9 a.m. at a marina in the 300 block of Alton Road.
Firefighters arrived to assist Miami Beach crews, who were already attacking the fire. Authorities said the blaze was difficult to access because it was in a sealed-off area at the back of the yacht. No injuries were reported.
They said the fire spread quickly, and Miami-Dade crews helped with hose lines, dewatering efforts and fuel containment.
Officials said the Department of Environmental Resources Management was notified to assess environmental concerns.
Local 10 News obtained video from viewer Alisson Guzman showing the aftermath, with smoke scattered across the area.
Authorities have not released the cause of the fire at this time.
