SUNRISE, Fla. — A Sunrise sex offender is facing 15 felony charges, including those related to the possession of child sexual abuse material, after police said he engaged in lewd chats with underage girls through the messaging app Discord.
Roberto Cesar Montesino, 51, landed on the state’s sex offender registry after a 2003 case for online child solicitation in Palm Beach County, according to state records.
More than two decades later, he now faces similar allegations. Eighty-one pages of court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Monday outlined the sexual chats detectives allege that Montesino had with the girls, aged 15 to 17.
In some cases, police said Montesino had the girls send explicit photos of themselves. Authorities said he engaged in sexual and fetish roleplay with many of the teens; in one instance, they said he asked a girl to pretend she was just 7.
The court documents state that Montesino additionally sent photos of his penis to some of the girls.
Authorities said Montesino was out on bond for two charges that were a violation of his sex offender registration.
They said they executed search warrants at his home in the 12200 block of Northwest 30th Street on Nov. 13 and last Tuesday, when he was arrested.
Records show Montesino was given an $80,000 bond Wednesday. A judge ordered him to submit to electronic monitoring, as well as to stay off the Internet and refrain from having contact with minors, save for his own child who lives with him.
He no longer appeared in Broward jail records as of Monday.
