Woman detained for questioning after shooting wounds man in Fort Lauderdale

Police: Man wounded in Fort Lauderdale, woman arrested

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man was wounded on Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale, and police officers reported their suspect in the shooting was a woman who was detained for questioning.

Police officers and fire rescue personnel responded at about 9:55 a.m. to a bus bench along North Avenue of Arts, near Northwest Ninth Street.

Police officers used crime scene tape to surround an area where there was blood on the sidewalk.

According to investigators, a fight led up to the gunfire.

It’s unclear, however, whether the woman who was detained will be charged in the shooting.
