MIRAMAR, Fla. — A man was pistol-whipped and his dog was stolen early Monday morning in Miramar, authorities confirmed to Local 10 News.
According to police, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Southwest 128th Terrace after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
When officers arrived, they found shell casings in the area and a male victim who had been pistol-whipped.
According to authorities, the victim was treated at the scene by Miramar Fire Rescue and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
Police said the victim told officers that he was approached by several people who attacked him and took his French bulldog.
The dog was later found in the area, police confirmed.
Police have since announced the arrest of 21-year-old Juliana Serna on charges that include home invasion with a deadly weapon and possession of cocaine.

The search continues for two of her accomplices, police said.
“I don’t feel safe at all,” a neighbor identified only as Isabel said. “I was actually talking to the president of the community because we pay a really high association here, by the way, and I told her, ‘Where was the security at?’ This guy sleeps through the night so that’s not OK, right? Like all the neighbors pretty much are concerned about the situation.”
The investigation remains ongoing and a description of the other suspects was not immediately released.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Miramar Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
