Police confirmed Juliana Serna, 21, was arrested on charges that include home invasion with a deadly weapon and possession of cocaine.

She was ordered held in the Broward County Main Jail without bond.

According to Miramar police, the incident occurred early Monday morning at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Southwest 128th Terrace.

When officers arrived, they found shell casings in the area and a male victim who had been pistol-whipped.

According to authorities, the victim was treated at the scene by Miramar Fire Rescue and is cooperating fully with the investigation.

Police said the victim told officers that he was approached by several people who tried to enter his home, attacked him and took his French bulldog.

The dog was later found in the area, police confirmed.

Police said three people were involved in the incident and got into the complex through a hole in the fence.

As of Tuesday, it was still unclear who shot at who.

According to Miramar police spokeswoman Janice McIntosh, the victim sustained multiple lacerations on his head from the attack.

“I don’t feel safe at all,” a neighbor identified only as Isabel said. “I was actually talking to the president of the community because we pay a really high association here, by the way, and I told her, ‘Where was the security at?’ This guy sleeps through the night so that’s not OK, right? Like all the neighbors pretty much are concerned about the situation.”

Police are continuing to investigate whether this was a random or targeted attack.

Police are still searching for the other two people involved in the incident.

Anyone with information about their identities is asked to call the Miramar Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
