Man accused of stabbing brother-in-law in northwest Miami-Dade

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the stabbing occurred at about 5 p.m. near Northwest 46th Street and 32nd Avenue.

Deputies said two men who are brothers-in-law were arguing when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, while the other man, identified as Dayan Bruzon-Diaz, 48, was taken into custody at the scene.

According to his arrest report, Bruzon-Diaz stabbed the victim in the left upper arm.

The victim then ran off, picked up rocks from the ground and threw them at Bruzon-Diaz in an effort to get him to stop from coming toward him, authorities said.

Deputies said Bruzon-Diaz then grabbed a yellow bat from inside his nearby vehicle and threw it at the victim, but missed.

He also entered his car and tried to hit the victim with it, authorities said.

Bruzon-Diaz was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and culpable negligence.

As of Wednesday morning, Bruzon-Diaz was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was expected to appear in bond court later in the day.
