FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — Authorities have identified a man who died after being trapped under a vehicle in Florida City on Tuesday.
Officers from the Florida City Police Department responded just before 3:30 p.m. to a sick/injured person call at a home near the 300 block of Southwest Third Avenue.
Sky 10 flew over the scene shortly after deputies said they found 51-year-old José Raul Roque with critical injuries. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and airlifted him to Jackson South Medical Center, where he later died.
They said preliminary findings suggest an accidental death, though the official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities confirmed that next-of-kin notifications were made and no further information is available at this time.
