DORAL, Fla. — A Doral man called police last January after seeing his Range Rover towed from his home, according to an arrest report. Almost a year later, the owners of the dealership from which he bought it are now facing felony charges after being accused of stealing it.
Doral police said the victim bought the luxury SUV in June 2024 from Jorge Gonzalez Ferrer, 39, and Juvenal Medina Castillo, 41, with Dynamic One LLC.
Police said the victim put down an initial $80,000 down payment and agreed to pay $2,850 per month until the loan was satisfied. Under the terms of the sale, the Range Rover could be repossessed if he missed four consecutive payments.
According to the report, the victim had paid for the vehicle through December when Dynamic One had the vehicle towed at 3:12 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2025.
Authorities said Gonzalez Ferrer told the man that they had the vehicle towed because his insurance policy had expired.
But police said the victim provided documentation showing that the policy never lapsed.
According to the report, the victim contacted Doral police to file a report on Aug. 27 after getting no answers as to what happened to his vehicle.
After an investigation, Gonzalez Ferrer and Medina Castllo turned themselves in at the Doral Police Department on Wednesday to be arrested on charges of organized scheme to defraud, grand theft and obtaining goods with an invalid vehicle title.
Both men were being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $16,000 bonds as of Thursday morning, but the Venezuelan nationals also face immigration holds.
