PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — The new year is here, but many Christmas lights and decorations are still shining around town.
So when is the right time to take them down? Opinions vary.
Some say the day after Christmas is best, while others wait until New Year’s. Traditionalists mark Jan. 6, the 12th day of Christmas and the Christian holiday of Epiphany, or Three Kings Day.
Some people even leave decorations up until the end of January or early February, a practice linked to the medieval English tradition of Candlemas.
