Police arrest man for gun-toting road rage incident that ended in Surfside

SURFSIDE, Fla. — A man was arrested over the weekend in Surfside after allegedly flashing a gun during a road rage incident.

Authorities said they took Curtis Odell Wade Jr., 64, of Miami, into custody on Sunday morning following a pursuit.

According to officers, the situation began with road rage that stretched from Haulover through Bal Harbour before ending up in Surfside.

An arrest report for Wade said the victim told officers someone pointed a gun at him while driving, and a short time later, cops spotted the suspect.

Instead of stopping, police said Wade took off, eventually crashing into a concrete wall.

He was taken into custody, and officers located a firearm in his vehicle, police said.

Surfside police also said that while in the patrol car, Wade appeared to have passed out.

At the hospital, cops said Wade told them he didn’t stop because he knew he’d been drinking and it wasn’t going to end well.

Police arrested him on multiple charges, including DUI, fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
