MIAMI — Miami police arrested a woman after they said two rideshare drivers reported being attacked by her in two separate incidents on Monday morning.
The first incident happened at the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 42nd Street, near Charles Hadley Park in the city’s Brownsville neighborhood.
Officers said they were dispatched to the area after receiving a call that an Uber driver had been assaulted. The driver told officers she had picked up a woman, later identified as 22-year-old Takereya Bowen, and a friend.
Before Bowen was dropped off, the driver said Bowen punched her several times on the right side of her face, causing redness, according to police.
Police said that as Bowen was striking the driver, the vehicle’s sun visor opened and documents, including a credit card, fell out.
Bowen then grabbed the credit card and other items, including a scent bottle, put them in her purse and exited the vehicle before requesting a Lyft, they said.

Shortly after, the Lyft driver told officers that when he picked Bowen up, she asked him to turn off the air conditioning and then struck him on the side of the head with her cellphone, causing a bump on the right side of his head, police said. Bowen then exited the vehicle.
Police said both drivers identified Bowen as the suspect. Officers later found items reported stolen in her purse.
Jail records show Bowen is facing two counts of battery and one count of petit theft.
As of Tuesday, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond is listed as “to be set.”
A motive for both attacks remains unclear.
