NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Detectives continued their investigation on Monday into a fatal shooting in North Miami Beach.
One person died, and another was injured at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Northeast 157th Street, according to the North Miami Beach Police Department.
Fire rescue personnel also responded and took the survivor, whose condition was critical, to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital’s trauma center.
Residents in the area said they heard two or three gunshots coming from the house that operates as a short-term rental.
“It’s always a really quiet street and quiet neighborhood,” Renee Hesse told Local 10 News on Sunday.
Police officers removed a door with bullet holes from inside the home and loaded it into a van.
