DANIA BEACH, Fla. — A worker was seriously hurt on Monday afternoon after being “struck and run over by a dump truck” at a construction site in Dania Beach, fire officials said.

Battalion Chief Michael Kane, a spokesperson for Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, said the incident happened at a site in the 300 block of Southeast Fifth Street.

Kane said the worker "sustained significant injuries, including trauma to the pelvis" and he was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma alert patient.

Officials have not provided additional details about his condition as of around 2:15 p.m.

Sky 10 video taken around that time shows Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and construction workers at the scene.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the dump truck driver would be cited or charged.
